Final Rewrite

 Hi Everyone,

Today I read a few articles and I found them very interesting. They have given advice for improving common academic writing issues and they really helped me improve on my re-writing experience this week.

The first thing I will be talking about is how to make your writing more concise. The main goal is to use the most effective words to concise your video. Concise writing always includes all the strongest words. Only the effective words should remain and the writing will suit this and be more readable for the viewers. To do this in your writing the first step is to replace several vague words with more powerful and specific words. Therefore this means that instead of using multiple small words and making the paragraph long you can just express your ideas through fewer specific words in a better way. The second step is to interrogate every word in a sentence. This is where you check every word to make sure it is providing something important to the viewers in the sentence. The final step is to combine your sentences. Some information doesn't need a full sentence and you can easily insert it into another sentence without losing its value.

Another article I will talk about is how to avoid common pitfalls. The first step to avoid overusing expletives at the beginning of sentences. Expressions can be rhetorically effective for emphasis in some situations, but if you overuse it it will create a complicated sentence. The second step is to avoid overusing noun forms of verbs. Sentences with multiple nouns known as normalizations usually have forms of be as the main verb. The third step is to avoid unnecessary infinitive phrases. Infinite phrases can be converted into finite verbs or brief noun phrases. Making such changes also often results in the replacement of a be-verb with an action verb. The last step is to avoid circumlocutions in favor of direct expressions. Circumlocutions are usually used for expressions that take a few words to say. We often overlook them as many expressions are habitual figures of speech. In writing they should be avoided as they add extra words with no meaning.

I will be discussing an active voice. An active voice is used for non-scientific writing. When you use an active voice it makes your sentences more clear to the readers and keeps the sentences from becoming too complicated. If you want to change a passive voice to an active voice you have to consider who or what is performing the action that is being expressed in the verb. Make it the subject of the sentence and change the verb accordingly.

These articles helped me a lot with my re-writing blog posts this week and I just wanted you to share them with you and my thoughts about them.

That's all for now, Bye!
